  GUNS in SOCIETY
Fact-checking:

"
The first casualty is truth."

As Aeschylus noted (c. 500 B.C.) in the context of war, in the debate about the place of guns in American society, the first casualty is truth.

We will provide here a growing body of literature, data, and sources to offer a foundation of reliable information concerning guns in American society.

Where data is unreliable or biased, we will strive to present multiple perspectives on a single argument, including rigorous attribution of sources, so that readers can become aware of multiple dimensions of the issue in question.

We will analyze the role of ideology in shaping "facts" about guns in society.
